According to WIKIPEDIA...

"A digital single-lens reflex camera (digital SLR or DSLR) is a digital camera that uses a mechanical mirror system and pentaprism to direct light from the lens to an optical viewfinder on the back of the camera.

The basic operation of a DSLR is as follows: for viewing purposes, the mirror reflects the light coming through the attached lens upwards at a 90 degree angle. It is then reflected twice by the pentaprism, rectifying it for the photographer's eye. During exposure, the mirror assembly swings upward, the aperture narrows (if set smaller than wide open), and a shutter opens, allowing the lens to project light onto the image sensor. A second shutter then covers the sensor, marking the end of the exposure, and the mirror lowers while the shutter resets. The period that the mirror is flipped up is referred to as "viewfinder blackout". A fast-acting mirror and shutter is preferred so as to not delay an action photo.

All of this happens automatically over a period of milliseconds. Fast cameras do this upwards of 10 times a second.

DSLRs are often preferred by professional still photographers because they allow an accurate preview of framing close to the moment of exposure, and because DSLRs allow the user to choose from a variety of interchangeable lenses. Most DSLRs also have a function that allows accurate preview of depth of field.

Many professionals also prefer DSLRs for their larger sensors compared to most compact digitals. DSLRs have sensors which are generally closer in size to the traditional film formats that many current professionals started out using. These large sensors allow for similar depths of field and picture angle to film formats.

The term DSLR generally refers to cameras that resemble 35mm format cameras, although some medium format cameras are technically DSLRs."

Nikon vs. Canon

* same exact price
* same exact megapixel
* both are digital SLR

I'll need to do some research. From what I've heard...Canon is SUPPOSEDLY better. They say "the best." I actually own a Nikon right now...and I love it...so I don't know...

two o four am

hah. it's 2:04 am...thursday. So I'm sitting here chillin...with my brother and his homie Collin...we're here getting faded...and all of a sudden...my house phone rings. HELL NO! I do not want my dad waking up this time of night hahah. I pick it up after the first ring. Turns out it's the alarm company for my work. They ask me if I can go down to the store and secure everything...make sure everything is ok. Being the drunk guy that I am...I say..."Yeh I'll be there in 5 minutes." She says to me..."Okay sir, the cops are there waiting for you...what will you be driving?" At this point I'm like...SHIT. I'M FADED. I respond..."White Ford Ranger." She says..."Okay give me a call once you arrive at the store." My bro saves the day...because he wasn't as faaaded as I was. He takes me down there...we get there...I see an empty cop car. I walk inside...the alarm is going off...loud as hell...I punch the code in...shut it down. Then I walk back out...and lock the doors....and start dialing the alarm company. As soon as I start dialing...I see a figure inside the store. DAAAMN. I got scared for a minute. Thought someone was robbing us. I walk up to the window...and see two cops inside my store. We make eye contact...I walk back in. Turns out...whoever closed the store tonight...forgot to lock the doors. The cops walked in with ease. I guess the wind blew the doors enough to set the alarms off. Or maybe someone thought we were a 24 hour store and tried to walk through. Maybe the alarms scared them off. Who knows? Point is...the cops didn't know I was drunk. Even if they did...wouldn't matter...because I wasn't driving. Anyways...it was exciting for a minute hah. Last time I came down in the middle of the night to shut the alarm off was because someone EGG'D OUR WINDOWS! I'm the first on the call list because I live like a minute away. OK. That's my story of the day. good night.

Oh yeah. My friend sent me this link tonight...because I didn't believe him. He said some woman dialed 911 because McDonalds ran out of Chicken McNuggets. hahahha. It's true...check it out...

Tuesday.

I've said this before...and I'm sure you're tired of hearing it...BUT...i dont givva fuuuuuuuuu. Imma say it anyways. My assistant manager said it takes 27 days to break a habit...ANY HABIT. im on day 25 of not smoking a cigarette. which translates to..."TWO MORE DAYS OF NOT SMOKING MAKES ME A NON SMOKER!" which then translates to..."I did it...I'm a non-smoker." Which translates to..."I smell good all the time...and my teeth will be white in like a week or so." hahaha. im stoked. To be honest...your life really changes when you don't smoke. When I did smoke...at work...on my 8 hour shifts...I smoked a cigarette every hour. NO JOKE. Now...on an 8 hour shift...all I do is work. On my break...i'll buy water...drink it...play with my phone...and go back to work. Real shit. Smoking cigarettes takes a lot of your time. I have been eating more I noticed...(to replace my smoking time)...BUT...I won't let it get the best of me. I've been sick which is why I haven't been to the gym in a minute...but now I feel better...SOOOO....i'll be back in the weight room in a matter of days. I just bought whitestrips too...I'll have white teeth in like 9 days. HOLLA. Lastly....all the money that I've saved from NOT BUYING CIGARETTES...I'm saving to buy a REALLY NICE CAMERA. My friend P knows all about that so he's telling me to get the camera he has. SLR. Here's a picture of it...

In due time. My Pictures will be perfect. I've always had a passion for documenting life. Taking pictures I mean. Think about it. 50 years from now...when you're retired...wouldn't you like to know what you did 50 years ago? What shit looked like? Start documenting now...real talk. It's your life. Show it to your children.

it's 12:47 am.

There are DOZENS...believe me DOZENS of restaurants in San Marcos...all within a ten minute drive. About 5 minutes from our campus theres even this place called Restaurant Row. I guess I just wanna eat at places I normally wouldn't. Expand my pallet if you will. But anyways...we went with the for sure bet today...ROAST BEEF SAMMICHES. It's been awhile.

BASICally.

Worked 1030-7 today. Love that shift. Favorite actually. At about 1130...some guy...claims he didn't know that his car was in "reverse." From where he was parked...he shoots about 10 yards back and completely destroys a stop sign. Everyone surrounds this guy...cars...pedestrians...even mailmen...(it happened at the post office). I look out the window and see a bunch of commotion so I go check it out. Someone asked him..."Why didn't you hit the breaks?" His response was..."I really don't know." I felt bad for him. He really did seem clueless about the whole thing. Anyways...he was okay and nobody was hurt.
On a different note...one of my co-workers just got a 2nd job at McDonalds. He says everytime he works...(every shift)...he gets a free meal...and another meal for 50% off. Sounds good to me. Me and another co-worker took him up on his offer.
About an hour after I digested my bigmac...fries...and 10pc. chicken mcnuggets...me and two homies headed downtoan to BAR BASIC. One of my homies cousins was having a birthday there. Cool little spot. I hear the pizza there is fantastic. Super crowded though...we had drinks...bobbed our heads for a bit...saw some other people we knew...played like wallflowers for a minute or two...and bounced. We were only there for about 2 hours. I really think that they let too many people into the clubs these days. I understand that it's the place to be...and you gotta make money by letting people in...BUT...SHIT...I could barely move in this place. You literally could not take 3 steps without either A) Stepping on someone's foot. B) Spilling your drink. or C) Hitting some random girl in the boob. But nevertheless...it was fun. We were then hungry...so we drove a few blocks down...parked at the mall...and got pizza from this place my friend claims is THE DANKS. He wasn't lying. Really good pizza this place. Place called Ciro's. I would definitely go back. I had a slice of the Pepperoni Sicilian...and we all ordered an 18" pie. Super tasty. Took it home...ate...drank as much water as I could...popped in an IBUPROFEN...and passed out like a baby. Very good times. A saturday night I would definitely redo in the future.

22 days. no fumar. first time in the last 10 years I did not have a cigarette at a bar.
